Watering Hole Poem

Waking up early by day,
to look at animals, they say.
But when you see no movement,
you are not afraid to comment,
that there is nothing there.
When eating breakfast later,
and seeing the metal ‘gator.
Eating scrambled eggs and toast,
hoping it is not warthog roast,
all of which they offer.
Seeing movement by the pond,
running back, so quick to respond.
Seeing some animals drinking,
knowing what they should be thinking,
that is time to move on.
That is pretty much how our day went, because the only other animals we saw were a couple of kudu, and even then, only their fleeing backsides.
