Ethan\u2019s birthday is here today<\/p>\n
So we all had better say \u2018Hurray!\u2019<\/p>\n
We rode a bus for eleven hours<\/p>\n
And all started off with cold showers<\/p>\n
We waited in a bus station<\/p>\n
Waiting for some information<\/p>\n
About the bus that was going to<\/p>\n
Arica, and the desert too<\/p>\n
We played Temple Run too long<\/p>\n
And I listened to 1D\u2019s song<\/p>\n
We each died hundred of times on<\/p>\n
Temple Run but kept playing on<\/p>\n
In evening light we reached our place<\/p>\n
Of destination, hoping for space<\/p>\n
In a taxi to Europcar<\/p>\n
Where we watched the man go afar<\/p>\n
We watched for his counterpart<\/p>\n
Who must have decided to depart<\/p>\n
While her customers were waiting,<\/p>\n
Waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting<\/p>\n
Our driver eventually took us out<\/p>\n
To our hostel, where we had a bout<\/p>\n
With the woman who gave us a key<\/p>\n
To room number five-plus-three<\/p>\n
In it were only two twin beds<\/p>\n
Nowhere for two to put their heads<\/p>\n
She went back to the counter and looks<\/p>\n
To see if she did it right with the books<\/p>\n
Apologetic, she came back<\/p>\n
Apparently they seem to lack<\/p>\n
Two rooms for a family of four<\/p>\n
Ethan and I went knocking on the door<\/p>\n
Of number nine, while the parents came up<\/p>\n
Then I realized we had nowhere to sup<\/p>\n
And that there was only room for two<\/p>\n
So there was some more hullabaloo<\/p>\n
We finally got a second room<\/p>\n
Dad found a place for supper and zoom!<\/p>\n
We were out the door and walking<\/p>\n
Stopping, seeing it closed and gawking<\/p>\n
Gawking at the sign that said,<\/p>\n
\u2018Closed til March 4\u2019 in big red<\/p>\n
So off we went, right down the street<\/p>\n
Looking for some place to eat<\/p>\n
We decided on some pizza<\/p>\n
And got it with pig meat- some<\/p>\n
Person behind the counter had<\/p>\n
Apparently understood them bad<\/p>\n
So we all looked forward to the ice<\/p>\n
Cream with glad and tired eyes<\/p>\n
We took a half liter home with us<\/p>\n
Mom bought a muffin in the fuss<\/p>\n
We ate the chocolate ice cream<\/p>\n
Manjar chips and mango dream<\/p>\n
And the banana split til we<\/p>\n
Were ready for the birthday he<\/p>\n
To open his gifts and watch<\/p>\n

We all got to bed far too late<\/p>\n
