The Sphinx, our first and original destination, was all but ignored when we were in front of it. Once above, though, we sat on the Sphinx\u2019s head and ate snacks. Ethan and I played 20 Questions, and it was a baboon. We saw two later on the hike after passing Breakfast Stream and a kilometer or so of trail. We went down a steep hill for about two hours. Mom\u2019s knees couldn\u2019t take it, so she had to use a stick.<\/p>\n
Dad was lucky enough to see a puff adder. He told Mom about it, and she freaked out.<\/p>\n
